Quick-commerce: Gorillas to acquire Frichti

The consolidation phase has begun in the quick-commerce sector. German-born specialist Gorillas announced today that it has entered into exclusive discussions to acquire French competitor Frichti. Founded in 2015, the company pioneered the sale of home-cooked meals and products under its brand, Frichti.

Frichti has a portfolio of 450,000 customers and is present in five cities in France. Gorillas wants to diversify its assortment with Frichti. For the German quick-merchant, meal kits, grocery brands and the Frichti private label will complement the local products sold on the Gorillas platform. Last November the latter got closer to the Casino group in France, which supplies it with national brands. In return, the quick-commerce player prepares in its dark-stores and delivers orders placed on the Monoprix and Franprix platforms in five cities: Lille, Bordeaux, Lyon, Nice and Paris.
