Loop is arriving this year in the Carrefour hypermarket in Montesson (78) to develop the use of packaging deposits after an initial launch of the concept in Parisian Carrefour City and Market stores in late 2020. The group wants to accelerate the development of the packaghing deposit in 10 new stores by the end of September and offer reuse and deposit in 500 stores by the end of 2025.
Loop is a circular economy start-up which offers returnable packaging available in "Loop" corners in select convenience stores in Paris. The Carrefour store in Montesson (78) is the first hypermarket of the group to host a Loop corner. From glass yogurt cups to dishwasher tablets in an aluminum box, customers will be able to find many everyday products (Nivea, Coca-Cola, Danone, Evian, Puget, Nutella, Chocapic, Ricoré, Maison Verte...) in sustainable and returnable packaging.
Once the products have been consumed, each customer can return the empty packaging to the store and get a refund of the deposit. The packaging, sorted and cleaned, can then be refilled and put back into the loop several dozen times. Consumers will find new products in the assortment, such as Bledina jars, Maison-Verte dishwashing liquid, and Bonduelle vegetables. Carrefour and Loop hope to extend the range to more than 100 products very quickly. The Carrefour group hopes to offer Loop in 10 new convenience stores by the end of September.
